Notice

  • If you're located at SOM, you'll need to access livestreams directly from your school's local contact: Anita Reyes.
  • Streaming issues can happen based on a low or unstable internet connection. The most consistent browser to use is either Firefox or Chrome. If your videos won’t load, try to use another browser. Safari isn’t recommended.

Step 1

Login to Cardinal Apps and open Canvas

Step 2

Within your Canvas course Nav menu, click on the Echo360 button.

When the EchoVideo menu loads, you'll see a list of recordings available to the class. If there is a live stream scheduled, you'll see the LIVE button (live button) next to the recording title and date.

If you see the Live button but it's greyed out (live button greyed out) and/or clicking on it does nothing, the scheduled recording has not started yet. Check the start date to the right of the video and check back later.

Step 3

Click on the LIVE button to launch the live stream

Considerations and features

EchoVideo offers students an array of features and engagement options to interact with class materials and live streams. In the upper right of the video player, you'll find some options that range from expressing confusion at a particular time-stamp, asking your instructor a question, or even writing down a note or two! Learn more about using these classroom functions here.

  • Student Engagement Icons: The icons (shown in picture) in the top right corner are for Student Engagement during the Lecture.

  • Questions and Answers: The Instructor can pose questions, or students can ask questions under the Discussion icons (Bubble with + sign, second from left). Instructors can monitor this in the ‘Q&A’ section of their echo360 tile within Canvas.

  • Confusion Flag: Students can also tap the Confusion Flag to alert faculty where in the video they were not clear on the lecture content.
