Find the SIS ID for a Canvas Course
The SIS ID (Student Information System ID) in Canvas is a unique identifier for courses within the Canvas learning management system (LMS). Sometimes, you may be asked to provide the course SIS ID. Having the SIS ID for a course in Canvas is essential for seamless integration with student information systems, efficient course management, accurate enrollment tracking, robust reporting and analytics, and cross-system compatibility. To retrieve the SIS ID for a course:
Administrators
Select Admin > Open your corresponding subaccount where the course is located > Search and find the course > the SIS ID column displays the correct value
Instructors
- Log in to Cardinal Apps.
- Open Canvas LMS.
- Find the course you need the SIS ID for.
- Open your course Settings.
- Copy the value in the SIS ID field.
