Why would you need a SIS ID?

If you are syncing courses over to Examsoft, providing a SIS ID to the Canvas administrator allows them to sync the correct courses and to avoid adding the wrong course to the sync list. This ensures courses aren't left out of the sync, and avoids syncing similar but different courses.


Before you begin...

  • You will need to be an admin for your Canvas site to follow the steps in this guide.



Step 1

Login to Cardinal Apps, and open the Canvas LMS app.

Step 2

Click on 'Admin' via the left sidebar and select your site's subaccount.

If you don't see the 'Admin' option, you are not an admin for your Canvas instance and need to contact your local Canvas administrator.





Step 3

Click on 'Courses' and search for the course name you'd like to grab the SIS ID for.






Step 4

Open the course that you searched for, and click on 'Settings' within the course navigation menu.

Step 5

On the 'Settings' page, you'll find the SIS ID below the Time Zone box. Use this value for the course when sending over an Examsoft sync list.








Repeat steps 3-5 for each course you'd like to get a SIS ID for.
