What is LinkedIn Learning?

LinkedIn Learning (formally Lynda.com) is an on-demand video learning platform to help you develop and enhance skills to attain professional and personal goals. With over 15,000 on-demand courses and pathways waiting, free access to LinkedIn Learning is provided to all active UIW faculty, staff, and students. The following guide will walk you through a first time setup, then you can access LinkedIn Learning from Cardinal Apps.




Step 1

Login to Cardinal Apps and click on the LinkedIn Learning app

Step 2

Click on 'Sounds Good' to proceed.

Step 3

On the next page, you'll need to select at least one skill that you're 'interested in'. 


Select as many as you'd like, but you will not be able to proceed until you select one. Once finished, click the blue 'Continue' button in the bottom right to proceed.

These skills allow LinkedIn to recommend relevant training content based on selected skills, so you can focus on the content you are interested in.




Step 4

You have the option to select a weekly goal to track learning progress. This is recommended but not required. Hit 'Set goal' to set your goal and continue, or, select 'Maybe later' to not set a goal and continue

Step 5

Finished. You will not have to go through this setup again and upon subsequent clicks on the Cardinal Apps tile, instead, you'll be taken directly to the LinkedIn Learning dashboard.
