Connect EchoVideo to A Canvas Course
Note: EchoVideo is only available for HPS courses.
EchoVideo (formerly known as Echo360) is a university-wide system designed to capture and record lectures. Additionally, it facilitates passive engagement and participation through confusion flags and lecture notes built into the video player, supporting personalized and student-centered models of teaching and learning. EchoVideo can be connected to a Canvas course, allowing students to stream and view recordings of lectures after class directly from Canvas. To connect EchoVideo to your Canvas course:
-
Log in to Cardinal Apps and open Canvas LMS.
- Navigate to your Canvas course.
- Select EchoVideo.
- From the drop-down menu, select a term for your section.
- Select "Create Echo360 Section".

FAQ
I cannot find EchoVideo in my course navigation menu or through my course settings.
EchoVideo is only available to the Health Profession Schools (HPS) and will not show up in Canvas courses outside these sites. If you are a part of this population and still don't see the option, check the Navigation menu within the course settings to enable the menu option.
Do I need to repeat this connection process?
This process links EchoVideo and a single Canvas course. Therefore, this must be done for each course you plan to use EchoVideo with.
Will students be able to see what I see in this EchoVideo menu?
Sort of. When a student opens the EchoVideo menu from Canvas, they will see their library content and course videos from a student's perspective. This means they will not be able to edit the content shown on the class video list, or, see course settings.
I'm getting an error or the EchoVideo tab will not load
