Visible Body, or VB, has a library of over 24,000 visual assets across a suite of applications. These apps are available at no cost to UIW personnel.  The Visible Body Suite has a mobile app that's available on iOS and Android devices, which offers a quicker way to access and use some of the apps, such as Human Anatomy Atlas, offline and conveniently on your mobile device. The app is licensed for 90 days at a time and must be re-authenticated by either: signing back into the app or reinstalling. To be eligible to download and install the mobile app, ensure you:

  1. Have created a Visible Body account 
  2. Can log in to the UIW Visible Body portal with your account.
  3. Have an active iCloud or Google account that can download applications from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.


To download and install the Visible Body Suite mobile app:


On a Laptop/Computer

  1. Login to the UIW Visible Body portal.
    1. If you haven't created an account, learn how to create a UIW Visible Body account.
  2. Under Get Mobile App, select the share button 
  3. Enter your UIW email address and choose Send.


On a Mobile Device

  1. On the mobile device, you're installing Visible Body to, check your UIW inbox for an email from the Visible Body Team.
    1. If you do not have your UIW inbox installed through an app, you can login to Cardinal Apps on your mobile device. and open Outlook.
  2. Within the email, open the appropriate app store option based on your device.
  3. Download and install the Visible Body Suite app.
  4. Open the Visible Body Suite app.
  5. Choose 'Sign In!'
  6. Log in with your Visible Body account.

In-Depth Walkthrough

On a Laptop/Computer

Step 1

Login to the UIW Visible Body portal.


Note: If you have not created a Visible Body account, learn how to make one with our step-by-step guide.


Step 2

Navigate to the "Get Mobile App" section on the page. The next part will change based on what kind of device you're currently using to view the portal. If you're:

  1. Viewing on Mobile Device: Tap the correct app store icon that matches your mobile device and skip to step 5.
    1. Have an Apple device? Select the App Store icon.
    2. Have an Android device? Select the Google Play icon.
  2. Viewing on a Desktop/laptop: Click the share button  and continue to step 3.


Step 3

Next, enter the email that is associated with your VB account. This should be your UIW email address. Click Send when finished.



On a Mobile Device

Step 4

Move to the mobile device you wish to install Visible Body to and open your UIW inbox. Your inbox can be accessed either through:


Within your inbox, you'll find an email titled 'Get the Mobile App' from 'The Visible Body Team'. Open the email and select your install method. 

  • Have an iPhone/iPad? Select the App Store option.
  • Don't have an iPhone/iPad? Select the Google Play option.

Note: Having trouble receiving the email? Check your email Quarantine, where emails are sometimes held.


Step 5

In your respective app store, tap the install/get button to download the Visible Body Suite app to your mobile device/tablet. Please note:

  • You will need an account with these stores to download apps. 
  • This download will not cost anything and you will not be charged, do not proceed if you see a prompt asking for money.


Note: This is a large application and depending on the age of your device and strength of your internet connection, the download may take a while.


Step 6

Open the downloaded application and tap the 'Sign In!' option at the bottom of the app. Do NOT subscribe or pay for this app as it's offered at no cost to UIW personnel through their VB login.



Step 7

In the pop-up, enter your Visible Body account credentials. These are the credentials you use for the UIW Visible Body portal and may differ from your Cardinal Apps login. Tap "Sign in!" when you're ready to proceed.



Note: If you receive an error, login to the UIW Visible Body portal to verify your username and password are correct, and try again.



FAQ

I am receiving an error that "Your access has expired". What do I do?

After approximately 90 days of using the mobile app, you will receive the following pop-up stating "Your access has expired. You must purchase a subscription...". Do NOT purchase Visible Body. To continue using the Visible Body mobile app, follow one of the two possible options:

  • (Recommended) Reinstall the mobile app using this guide. Sign in to the app once more to license it for another 90 days.
  • Connect to a UIW WiFi network (uiw-employees or uiw-students, not uiw-guests) > Sign out/back in to the mobile app with your Visible Body account.
