With Edpuzzle, teachers can take video content from various sources, such as YouTube, and customize it by adding their voiceovers, questions, and notes. To use Edpuzzle, you must have an account. This guide will talk you through creating an Edpuzzle account and advise on some key things to know about your account. To create an Edpuzzle account at UIW:
- Open Edpuzzle.com
- Select Sign Up
- Choose your status, either teacher or Student.
- Select Sign in with Microsoft
- Select your account or sign in with your UIW email and password.
- Select Accept when prompted for Permissions Requested.
- Create a password for Edpuzzle.
- Select the box to agree to Edpuzzle's terms of service
- Select Create new account

If you're a teacher, enter your department or institution's name
- The recommended school is "University of the Incarnate Word"
- Choose a grade level and subject.
- Select Start Teaching.

Open Edpuzzle's website and choose the Sign Up option to start the account creation process.

Choose your status as a teacher or student. Each type of account has specific settings and quirks, so it's recommended to choose appropriately.
Note: If you are using the Edpuzzle Canvas app to assign Edpuzzle activities, students do not need to make an account. See FAQ for more info.

Choose the "Sign in with Microsoft" option to proceed. This will allow you to utilize your school email for your Edpuzzle account.

Sign in with your UIW email and password to authorize Edpuzzle. When you see the 'Permissions requested' prompt, choose "Accept" to continue creating the account.

Next, you'll complete some final details for your Edpuzzle account.
- (Optional) Password - This is optional, but can serve as extra security for your account.

Why is this optional? To sign in to Edpuzzle, always use the 'Sign in with Microsoft' option or access it through Canvas. Setting a password is not necessary, but it can be done for extra security.

- Click the box to agree to Edpuzzle's Terms of Service
- Select 'Create new account'

Choose your school. This will place you in a network with other Edpuzzle teachers and make discovering other Edpuzzle users much easier! While typing "UIW" will show smaller communities, typing "University of the Incarnate Word" will show the primary account that's recommended for most teachers.

Finally, adjust your Edpuzzle account settings to curate content. These settings will determine the most relevant videos Edpuzzle will suggest to you.

FAQ
Does my Edpuzzle account expire?
Yes. After 18 months of inactivity, Edpuzzle will delete your Edpuzzle account and you will lose access to your lessons, projects, and videos. We recommend logging into your Edpuzzle account occasionally to prevent this, as Edpuzzle does not send deletion notifications.
