Share Files and Folders in Microsoft OneDrive
Microsoft OneDrive is the cloud storage solution at UIW. It offers near-unlimited, private storage for your files and many conveniences and features for your stored content. The files on your OneDrive are private until you share them with others, which can be done primarily through two methods: Using a Sharing link ( aka "Copy link") or by Sharing with Specific People. Sharing content from OneDrive is easy and secure, with each method being end-to-end secure, meaning only you and the recipient(s) can view the content.
Keep in mind that when you share files or folders with Edit permissions, other individuals can edit and change that content. When sharing content with others, being mindful of the permissions you're providing is vital. To share content in Microsoft OneDrive, use the resources below.
FAQ
Can I disable a Sharing link or restrict access after I've shared an item?
Yes. If you are the owner of a file or folder, you can always turn off existing sharing links or restrict access. To do this:
- Open OneDrive [or SharePoint] through Cardinal Apps and locate the file.
- Hover over the item and select the three dots.
- Select Manage Access.
- Select Stop Sharing
- Alternative to the Stop Sharing option, Choose either the People, Groups, or Links tab and remove sharing access for each existing sharing option
When I open the menu to create a sharing link, I don't understand the settings it gives me.
