Whiteboard Availability
Whiteboard is available to everyone in the UIW community with access to Microsoft 365.
- The web version is accessed from Cardinal Apps.
- A downloadable version of Whiteboard is available for Windows devices and mobile platforms (iOS and Android).
- It's integrated into Microsoft Teams meetings.
- Tech support is provided by the UIW Help Desk.
Whiteboard Considerations
- The performance of the Whiteboard web application is impacted by the browser you use to access it.
- For the best possible experience, use Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. If you encounter unexpected behaviors, clear your browsing history or change browsers.
- Start a board from scratch or choose from a variety of templates available in multiple languages.
- Boards can be opened and reopened as often as needed and will exist until deleted.
- Boards can be made "read-only" to stop collaboration when shared during an MS Teams meeting.
- Boards, like other Microsoft files, can be shared using a sharing link. You can send a board to a colleague or student or share it in a Canvas course.
- Boards are automatically saved to a OneDrive folder named Whiteboards.
- If multiple people are actively working on a board, collaborative cursors show the names of every participant by default.

Additionally, students can use the Whiteboard individually, which is great for taking notes, brainstorming ideas, or submitting individual assignments.
Is Microsoft Whiteboard available on all devices?
Yes. Microsoft Whiteboard is a web application, meaning it can always be accessed from most web browsers. A downloadable version is also available on Windows and mobile platforms, such as iOS and Android.
I created a Whiteboard in a Teams meeting; can I access it outside the meeting?
Yes, regardless of where a board was created, it will always be accessible in all spaces where you're logged in with your UIW account. The easiest way to access your Whiteboards is from the Cardinal Apps dashboard.
