New Changes to Discussions in SpeedGrader: What You Need to Know

Canvas has recently rolled out an update to SpeedGrader, impacting how discussions are viewed. In previous versions, instructors could easily see a student’s replies in SpeedGrader, count them, and, if needed, click a link to view the full discussion for additional context.
With this new update, the entire context of the discussion appears in the SpeedGrader view. In addition to viewing a student’s responses, you will now see other participants' replies within the SpeedGrader view. This shift may initially seem overwhelming, but Canvas has introduced tools to help navigate these replies.
To sift through the student's replies in this new view, use the “Previous Reply” and “Next Reply” buttons on the right sidebar. These buttons will help you highlight and jump between the student's responses, making it easier to review and grade each one while still viewing the entire discussion context.
