GivePulse Overview

GivePulse is a comprehensive online platform designed to help higher education institutions manage, track, and assess community engagement, service-learning, experiential learning, and other high-impact practices. It is a centralized system that allows faculty, students, staff, and community partners to coordinate, document, and evaluate all forms of volunteering, service-learning, and civic engagement activities. It integrates seamlessly with Canvas and other campus tools, making it easy to connect curricular and co-curricular experiences.

Givepulse Availability

GivePulse is available through Cardinal Apps when you are logged in with your UIW credentials.You will be taken to the UIW instance, Cardinal Pulse, at uiw.givepulse.com

Canvas has a GivePulse integration that allows Faculty to create GivePulse assignments.

GivePulse Tech Support

GivePulse provides robust support through their website. When logged into GivePulse, click on your profile and select Support to access tutorials.

GivePulse Considerations

All courses designated as Service Learing are automatically synchronized with GivePulse. In order for non-service learning Canvas courses to function properly with GivePulse, the course must be added through Banner by filling out a simple form.

UIW Engage is integrated with GivePulse. Events from Engage can be found in GivePulse and included in GivePulse data and Canvas assignments.

How do I find GivePulse

GivePulse is available in Cardinal Apps.Click the app to open. Find your profile on the top right, you will also access the support link in your profile menu.

How do I join an organization or group?

Visit the organization’s GivePulse page and click the “Join” button. Some groups may have specific requirements for membership. If you visit GivePulse through a Canvas assignment, you may have special requirements based on the assignment.

How do I create a Canvas assignment

The GivePulse app is integrated with Canvas as an external tool.Create your assignment and choose GivePulse as the external tool in the Submission Type area.
