Cardinal Quiz Converter Overview

The Cardinal Quiz Converter is a custom University of the Incarnate Word app that creates Canvas quizzes from formatted documents. It allows you to write quiz questions in a document and convert them into Canvas-ready quizzes without entering questions one at a time. With precise formatting, this tool provides a faster and more efficient way to build quizzes in Canvas.

Currently, this tool creates a QTI file for you to upload in your course. A newer version is coming soon to create the quiz directly in Canvas, removing the need for manual file uploads.

Cardinal Quiz Converter Availability

The web version of the Cardinal Quiz Converter is available for anyone to create a QTI file. Those with roles in Canvas that allow quiz editing, such as Teachers and TAs, can import the QTI to make a quiz. You can also access the tool in the more menu on the Quizzes page in Canvas; locate the option to Convert File to QTI.

Cardinal Quiz Converter Considerations

Precise formatting of the file is required.
Currently creates a QTI file; you must import the QTI into a Canvas course.
Accepted file types for conversion include:.txt, .md, .docx, .csv
CSV files have limitations; all question types and features are not fully supported.
