Live Captions in Microsoft Teams
Live Captions in Microsoft Teams improve accessibility, comprehension, and engagement during meetings.
- Open your Microsoft Teams meeting.
- Click the More (three-dot menu) in the meeting controls at the top of the window.
- Select Language and speech.
- Click Turn on live captions. You'll be prompted to confirm the spoken language.
- The captions area will appear. Click the gear icon to adjust caption settings.

Step 1: Open Teams
Launch the Microsoft Teams desktop app and start or join your meeting.

Step 2: Open the More Menu
Click the three-dot More menu, located in the meeting controls between the Apps and Camera icons.

Step 3: Open Language and Speech
Select Language and speech from the menu.

Step 4: Turn on Live Captions
Click Turn on live captions. You'll be asked to confirm the spoken language in the meeting.

Step 5: Adjust Caption Settings
Click the gear icon in the captions area to adjust the caption view, including font size, position, and the height of the caption box.
