Create a SoftChalk assignment in Canvas

This guide walks you through the steps of creating a SoftChalk assignment in your Canvas course. Mozilla Firefox and Safari provide an optimal student experience for SoftChalk, be sure to make this recommendation in your assignment instructions.

Navigate to Canvas course through Cardinal Apps.
Click Assignments in the course navigation bar.
Click +Assignment.
Fill in the assignment details: Name, Description, Points, etc.
- In the submission type, select External Tool.
- Choose SoftChalk Link Selector.
- You may be prompted to sign in.
Choose the lesson and click Select for LTI Link.
Choose Load This Tool In A New Tab.
Click Save & Publish your assignment.

Step 1

Access Cardinal Apps and open the Canvas LMS app. Locate the course where you can proceed to create the SoftChalk assignment.

Click the Save & Publish to finish creating the assignment.
