Create a SoftChalk assignment in Canvas
This guide walks you through the steps of creating a SoftChalk assignment in your Canvas course. Mozilla Firefox and Safari provide an optimal student experience for SoftChalk, be sure to make this recommendation in your assignment instructions.
- Navigate to Canvas course through Cardinal Apps.
- Click Assignments in the course navigation bar.
- Click +Assignment.
- Fill in the assignment details: Name, Description, Points, etc.
- In the submission type, select External Tool.
- Choose SoftChalk Link Selector.
- You may be prompted to sign in.
- Choose the lesson and click Select for LTI Link.
- Choose Load This Tool In A New Tab.
- Click Save & Publish your assignment.

Step 1
Access Cardinal Apps and open the Canvas LMS app. Locate the course where you can proceed to create the SoftChalk assignment.
